Weekly Newsletter September 2nd

Testimonial from Deena McClellan, Volunteer:

"Hi, I'm Deena McClellan. In April, like many others, my day job as a teacher left me home bound. The lack of physical activity was making life feel really dark and I HAD to do something to turn myself around, that's when I began volunteering with UCFR. I had to get out of my house and do something that made me whole again. I have enjoyed helping our community with home deliveries, as it has opened my eyes to see the challenges that others are enduring. My favorite experiences are hearing the gratitude in the clients voices once the delivery is made. I once received a grateful voice message (that I have saved) from a woman who was tearfully appreciative of the delivery I had just left her. These tender moments make volunteering even more rewarding and keeps me from falling back into that darkness."

501(c)(3) Status

We have been working with an attorney to be officially incorporated and recognized as a non-profit entity by the State of Utah. We anticipate this happening within the next couple weeks. We also are beginning the process with the same attorney to register as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This will most likely take about 6 months to complete. We are excited for the amazing growth and participation we are seeing across the Wasatch Front. Good times are ahead!!

In the last month, our volunteers have made 60 deliveries to 35 different households. We are so happy that we are expanding to better meet the needs of those in the state of Utah. We anticipate much more to come and are excited to serve with you!
